Delton L. Vandever


Delton L. Vandever's practice focuses on commercial litigation and appellate work. Mr. Vandever has successfully represented clients at the trial and appellate levels, and in mediation, in a broad range of commercial and private disputes, including insurance, commercial contract, employment, securities, intellectual property, real estate, and commercial landlord/tenant. Mr. Vandever counsels the Firm's insurance, banking, business, and international clients with respect to litigation and contract related matters, including jurisdictional issues, alter ego liability, contractual rights, and privacy law issues. Mr. Vandever regularly represents life and disability insurers in coverage disputes with policyholders in both state and federal courts in New York, and has favorably resolved a number of disputes through settlement and through summary judgment.

Mr. Vandever has significant appellate experience, having successfully represented clients in cases specifically transferred to the Firm to be handled at the appellate level and in appeals with respect to existing Firm cases. Several of Mr. Vandever's reported decisions include Roudneva v. Bankers Life Ins. Co. of N. Y., 35 A.D.3d 580 (2d Dep't 2006); Zawahir v. Berkshire Life Ins. Co., 22 A.D.3d 841 (2d Dep't 2005); and Weinberger v. Berkshire Life Ins. Co. of Am., 7 A.D.3d 789 (2d Dep't 2004).

While attending New York University School of Law, Mr. Vandever was a member of the Annual Survey of American Law.
