Experience
Jonathan represents borrowers and lenders in connection with commercial real estate mortgage and mezzanine financing transactions, overseeing matters from due diligence through closing. In addition to drafting, reviewing and negotiating loan documents, modification agreements, leases and legal opinions, Jonathan performs reviews of title commitments and surveys and coordinates the resolution of any title issues.
Prior to Windels Marx, Jonathan practiced in a similar capacity at a New York-based boutique and several prominent AmLaw 200 law firms. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers© as a "Top Rated Real Estate Attorney" and has been named to the New York Metro Super Lawyers© Rising Stars.
Academia
While at Cornell Law School, Jonathan was: the Notes Editor for the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy; a CALI Excellence for the Future Award Recipient; a Cornell Law School Scholarship recipient; a member of the Moot Court Board; a member of the Cornell Mock Trial team; served as Student Counsel for (i) the Advocacy for LGBT Communities Clinic and (ii) the Family Law Clinic; and a Teaching Assistant for: (i) Real Estate Law and (ii) Law for Entrepreneurs. While at Cornell University, he was: Dean’s List, and a recipient of the Cornell Alumni Scholarship, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s Citi Fellows Award, the Don Rosenthal Scholarship, the Garrett B. Smith Scholarship, the Vuillermet Scholarship, and the Samuel & Lillian Pearsall Scholarship.
