Experience
Riya is a Scientific Advisor (Non-Legal) in the firm’s Hatch-Waxman Group, and specializes in assisting attorneys with scientific issues concerning validity, infringement, and patentability in the areas of pharmaceutical science and chemistry. She is also involved in opinion work and review of discovery documents during patent litigation.
She recently received her Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Kentucky. As a PhD-trained pharmaceutical scientist, Riya has experience supporting invention capture, prior art–informed analysis, and translational technology assessment. She is skilled in translating complex experimental data into clear, patent-ready technical documentation and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to inform IP strategy and commercialization decisions.
