Experience
Amel Spahija focuses his practice on transportation related matters including (but not limited to): litigation, regulation and technology and administrative law. He brings with him experience as a New York City Agency Attorney at the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission, Prosecution Division, where he prosecuted contested summonses and managed consumer complaint cases, among other matters.
Prior to joining Windels Marx, he was the Assistant District Attorney in the Violent Criminal Enterprises Bureau of the King's County District Attorney's Office. He was also, for many years, an Assistant District Attorney in Richmond County where he led long term narcotics and criminal investigations with multiple law enforcement agencies.
During law school, he was a Legal Intern at the United States Department of Labor - Office of the Solicitor, as well as the New York Police Department - Department Advocate's Office.
