Article - Bruce Bronster Shares Insight on How Country Clubs Can Open the Market to Millennials

Bruce Bronster (Partner, New York) provided commentary for an article published by Mutual Fund Reform entitled “Country Club Residences Face An Uncertain Future”. In the past, having a home in a country club was status symbol that many had dreams of making reality. As trends and tastes have shifted over the years, there has been a decline in the interest of  such properties which has many real estate professionals and current club residents apprehensive about the future. Bruce however, believes that while personal tastes may have, the market has the ability to cater to the tastes of millennials.

“…the country club life doesn’t dovetail well with tastes and lifestyle. I do think that taking a country club residence and opening it up to short term rentals, something similar to a timeshare, would help sales. A millennial who might like to play golf in one location a few times a year might be interested in fractional ownership.”
